“A Good Day For Living” es el segundo CD del cantautor Neoyorquino Dan Kaplan y su banda de Sevilla, Krooked Tree. Fue grabado en primavera del 2010 en los estudios del productor y músico Paco Loco. Las canciones reunidas en “A Good Day For Living” son una especie de meditación sobre el mundo interior de la mente y sus muchas maneras de procesar y proyectarse sobre el paisaje exterior. El disco es un tapiz de mitos, fábulas, viejas canciones y historias bíblicas filtrados por los recuerdos de un individuo. Cada canción resalta el tenue equilibrio entre lo real e imaginario y cuestiona cualquier noción absolutista de verdad. Empleando elementos del folk, blues, R&B, rock y country, los arreglos de Krooked Tree refuerzan los ambientes establecidos por las letras. El disco fue grabado en tomas directas con toda la banda en cinta de dos pulgadas de acuerdo con su preferencia por la música viva por encima de una precisión mecánica y aséptica.



“A Good Day For Living” is the second LP by New York born singer songwriter Dan Kaplan and his band Krooked Tree from Seville, Spain. It was recorded in the spring of 2010 in the studios of the producer Poco Loco. The songs of “A Good Day For Living” are a meditation on the interior world of the mind and its many ways of processing and projecting itself over the exterior landscape. The collection is a patchwork of myth, fable, old folk song, and biblical references passed through the filter of individual memory. Each composition explores the unstable relationship between the real and imaginary and calls into question any notion of absolute truth. With elements of folk, blues, R&B, rock and country, the arrangements of Krooked Tree reinforce the moods established in the lyrics. The music was recorded in direct takes by the band on two inch analog tape in accordance with their preference for a live feeling over an aseptic precision.
